Troy B. 'Berry' Meadows
June 28, 1912 ~ April 20, 1999
A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late William 'Bill' and Annis Brown Meadows, and the husband of Rachel King Meadows, who died in 1996. He was also preceded in death by a son, James Glenn Meadows, and a grandson, Dewayne Sutton.
He was an Army veteran of WW II, a member of VFW Post 891, and an employee of Acme Concrete Products.
He is survived by two daughters, Ann McMahan and Helen Sutton of Leicester; two sons, Roy Lee Meadows of Leicester and Billy Ray Meadows of Jackson County; a brother, Steve Meadows of Leicester; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Reed officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team at Little Sandy United Methodist Church Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
