UB Duckett

Miss Duckett was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late H.B. and Mary Etta Warren Duckett. She was a graduate of Flat Creek High School and the Asheville Normal College. Her home was always a refuge for many and she knitted socks and sweaters for soldiers during WW II. She was a retired secretary and was an active member of Hominy Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Georgia Stewart, Daisy Hipps, Rachel Duckett and Mary Etta Duckett, and a brother, Ralph Porter Duckett.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Joe Yelton officiating.

The family will be at the home of J.D. & Jean Jennings, 251 Shelburne Road, Asheville.
