Velda Maynor Cutshaw

Velda Maynor Cutshaw, 81, of Fletcher, passed away at her residence on Sunday, October 31, 2021.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Nora Burleson Maynor. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Leonard Cutshaw and three brothers, Maurice Maynor, Alvin Maynor and Edmond Maynor.

Velda is survived by two sisters-in-law, Wanda Cutshaw and Mae Maynor, as well as several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Velda was a 1958 graduate of North Buncombe High School. She was a member of Oakley Freewill Baptist Church, where her husband previously served as Pastor. She loved God and spending time with family and friends. Her family wishes to extend a special thanks to Four Seasons Hospice for their loving care of Velda, especially to Roxie Murdock and Joy Resendez.

A graveside service for Velda will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oakley.
