Vera Olga Liebersberger Piekney

Vera Olga Liebersberger Piekney, 92, of Arden, died Tuesday, January 22, 2008, in the loving care of her friends at Heatherglen. A native of New York City, she was a daughter of the late Filip and Anna Martinko Liebersberger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William A. Piekney, who died in 1996. She was of the Lutheran faith. Survivors include a daughter, Shari Luanne Lane of Asheville; a son, William Richard Piekney of Vienna, VA; three grandchildren, Quinton Piekney, Garret Piekney and Tara Quinn; and one great-grandchild, David Macmillan Quinn. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Her family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Heatherglen for their tender and merciful care.
