Vergie Ball King, 92, formerly of Martin Branch Road, Leicester, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at the Rickman Center.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Jess and Lulie Jones Ball and was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie E. King who died in 2002; a daughter, Shelby Jean King; three sisters and four brothers. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Mrs. King is survived by a daughter, Shirley Gossett and her husband Wayne of Leicester; three sons, Charles King and his wife Margaret of Arden, Edward King and his wife Wylma Jean of Weaverville and Gerald King and his wife Karen of Leicester; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Ralph Sexton, Jr. and Danny Hardin officiating. Burial will follow at Big Sandy United Methodist Church with grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
Her family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am prior to the service.

Charlie and family — you are in our prayers at your loss of a mother. She lived a long life and now we believe she is in a place where her health is restored for all time. Praise the Lord!
