Vickie Lynn Frisbee, 46, of 31 Lamb Avenue, Asheville, died unexpectedly Thursday, December 6, 2012, at her home. Vickie was born in Asheville and was a daughter of the late Reuben G. and Mary Roberts Frisbee. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Dean Wooten. She was a long time department manager WalMart and also managed several retail stores in Asheville and Hendersonville. More recently she spent much of her time as a caregiver for her father until his death. She is survived by her lifetime companion, Robert John Barnes; sons, Nathan Johnston(Jennifer Meadows) and Jeremy Johnston (Kristen Hoitela); and stepson Robert Jonathan Barnes; grandchildren, Willow Johnston, Jazmyn Johnston, Isaiah Johnston and Christopher Blaze Barnes; sisters, Janice Adams (Joel), Gail Carico and Rosalena Merriam; and brothers, Kenneth Frisbee and Robert Wooten (Pam). Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with interment to follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. Nathan,Jeremy, and JB. Vickie was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed..I am still shocked. My prayers are with all of you in this trying time.

  2. John, Nathan, Jeremy, Kenny, Rosie…I am so sorry for your loss. Vickie was one of the best friends I ever had and although we went in different directions, she has always held a special place in my heart. I will never forgot how loyal, kind and loving she was and my life is blessed to have had the honor and pleasure of calling her my friend. My heart just breaks for you all and I am just devestated to hear of her passing. I will alawys hold our WalMart days and race trip memories close to my heart and cherish them always.
