Vincent H. Mashburn Arden – Vincent Henry Mashburn, 73, of Arden, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Hendersonville. A native of Swain County, Vincent was a son of the late Marvin V. and Jessie Thomas Mashburn. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Phil Mashburn. Vincent retired in 1994 from Ball Corporation after 34 years of service and was a member of Arden Missionary Baptist Church. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Lipe Mashburn; three sons, Ron Mashburn and Daryl Mashburn, both of Arden and Willie Mashburn of Spruce Pine; two sisters, Marie Peve of Arkansas and Ruth Watson of Tennessee; one brother, Junius Mashburn of Brevard; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Reverend Jimmy Taylor and Reverend Bob Hagan officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.

  5. What can I say? But, that he was, without a doubt, my favorite Uncle. Uncle Vincent was really like a father to me. We all raced go carts back in the 70’s and he was always there to support us, and into the late 80’s-90’s he continued to be there for us with our racing at AMS. Uncle, I will miss you terribly, Love You and Godspeed….Richie

  6. remember Vincent from way back in the day. remember where he worked and how he played.he was a man’s man.he liked them race cars. i was just a kid but grew to respect him. love to his family.
