Virginia Campbell Edwards

A native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Edwards was a daughter of the late Andrew Stover Campbell and Sara Iona Duckett Campbell. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Florence Campbell Scroggs and a brother, Clarence Edward Campbell. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Gashes Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Edwards; two stepdaughters, Toni E. Kirby of Pacolet, SC and Cynthia E. Eledge of Coconut Creek, FL; four grandchildren, Chris Kirby of Oakboro, NC, Erin Johnson of Pacolet, SC, Greg Eledge of High Point, NC and Jessica Eledge of Coconut Creek, FL; four great-grandchildren, Courtney Eledge and Brittany Eledge of High Point, NC, Nathaniel Kirby of Oakboro, NC and Abigail Johnson of Pacolet, SC; two brothers, Ernest Gerdwood Campbell of Asheville and Charles Campbell of Harrisburg, NC.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 PM at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with Rev. Johnny Tiller and Rev. John Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
