Virginia Eleanor Durell

Virginia Eleanor Durell, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 25, 2014. Mrs. Durell was born in Boston, MA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William A. Durell, Sr. and her mother Eileen Morcombe. Virginia lived in the suburban area of Boston until moving to Hendersonville in 2001. While in Boston, she worked at the lahey clinic and raised two children with her husband. She was a member of Living Savior Lutheran Church in Asheville and she enjoyed gardening, reading and working crossword puzzles. Mrs. Durell is survived by her two children, William "Bill" Durell, Jr. and his wife, Hanna of Hendersonville and Gail Durell of Salem, MA; a sister, Carol Belcastro and her husband, Pat; two nieces, Linda (Steve) Holcombe and Marcia (Al) Roach; two nephews, Charles (Linda) Sanborn and Ed (Paige) Durell and one brother-in-law, Edward (Marion) Durell.
