Virginia (Ginnie) Garbee Sanders

Virginia (Ginnie) Anne Garbee Sanders, 75, of Black Mountain, NC, went home to be with her Lord Saturday, May 28, 2022.

Ginnie was born October 30, 1946, in Asheville to the late Stanley S. and Hazel Guthrie Garbee. She was preceded in death by her son, Carl Sanders and her husband, Bobby Sanders, Sr. She was a 1964 graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School and she was a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church.

Ginnie was a devout Christian and loved her Lord and her family. She had a deep love for animals and nature and was always reaching out to those in need.

Her family includes her son, Bobby Gene Sanders, Jr., of Asheville, her sister, Robin Thompson and her husband Sam of Stone Mountain, GA, her niece, Katherine Thompson Kelsey and her husband Matt and their children Grace and Grant of New Jersey.

A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Will Gaines at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 5th in the Groce Funeral Home chapel, 1401 Patton Avenue, West Asheville.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you enjoy a special activity or outing with your family in memory of Ginnie. She would be pleased.
