Virginia Marraro Mills, 90, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022, at the NC State Veterans Home.

Mrs. Mills was born April 30, 1932, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Charles Francis and Helen Winowitch Burns. She was a retired registered nurse and served as a second lieutenant in the US Air Force.

Among her survivors is a daughter, Lisa Cole.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Roger Arnsparger at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Basilica of St. Lawrence with burial to follow at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Four Seasons Foundation (www.FourSeasonsFdn.org) or to the American Red Cross (www.redcross.org).
