Virginia Dare McElroy Nesbitt, 75, of Candler, died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Lucy Burnette and Irvin Jarrett McElroy. Virginia retired from American Enka after 44 years of service and was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Guy Daniel Nesbitt and one brother, Wallace Eugene McElroy and his wife, Diane of Candler. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Reverend Jay Bissett and Reverend Jim Odum officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
