Virginia P. Rogers

Mrs. Rogers was born in Union County, SC, and was a daughter of the late William Thomas and Virgie Blake Prince, and was married to Gay Rogers, who died in 1976.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert W. Rogers in 1996.  She was a former resident of Charlotte where she worked as a buyer for Sears-Roebuck.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis Jean and Robert Litaker of Winston-Salem;  a son and daughter-in-law, David A. and Nancy Rogers of Garden City, SC;  four sisters, Lucille Tuttle of Hilliard, FL, Mary Barfield of Twin City, GA, Ruth Crowell of Blountstown, FL, and Patricia Rubin of Ontario, Canada;  nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Donald N. Welborn officiating.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Aveue.
