Vivian Kontoulas

Vivian A. Kontoulas passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2008, in Asheville, NC. She was born in Lynchburg, VA on August 15, 1916, to John and Sally Copher Riley. Mrs. Kontoulas was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Andreas P. Kontoulas, and by her daughter, Joyce B. Zaky. Mrs. Kontoulas was a real estate and insurance broker in Charlotte and Asheville for many years. She was a member of the Basilica of St. Lawrence. She is survived by her daughter, Janice B. Birmingham and husband Melton, of Simi Valley, CA; five grandsons, and seven great-grandchildren. Our family would like to thank the staff and hospice of Emerald Ridge Rehab and Care Center for their excellent care for the past several years. A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Fr. John M. Pagel officiating.
