Vivian M. Medford, of Monte Vista Rd., Candler, died on Friday, January 30, 2015, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center, in Asheville.
Born March 18, 1923, in Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Ossie and Mattie Morgan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers and one sister, her husband, Earl Medford; son Bruce Medford; and granddaughter, Robin Medford.
Surviving Mrs. Medford are her sons, Ron Medford and wife Janie, of Cullowhee, and Ray Medford, of Candler; grandson, Mitch Medford and wife Donna, of Fayetteville, GA; daughter-in-law, Ann Medford, of Bryson City; eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Gene King, of Emma Grove Baptist Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made to the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center, P.O. Box 5779, Asheville, NC 28813.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

Ray & Ron, As I was reading your mom’s obituary this morning, memories took me back to our growing up years at Ridgeway, reminding me of all those older ladies who tried to keep us in line. Your mother, my mom, Hilda, Marie, Mrs. Bumgardner, and the many others, all of those good women are with our Father now. We were blessed to have them in our lives. If I could use just one or two words to describe my memories of Vivian, they would be she was a ‘real lady’. Please accept our condolences and sympathy and know you both are in our thoughts and prayers.
