Vullar Songhakum, 60, of Asheville, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at Mission Hospital. A native of Thailand, Mrs. Songhakum moved to Asheville three years ago from Jacksonville, FL. She worked as a cosmetologist, and attended Beverly Hills Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Darlene McNabb and husband Timothy; son Matt Johnson; grandchildren Lily and Ali McNabb; mother-in-law Louise Minter; and other family members Diane Brank, Larry Minter, Heather Anderson, and Melanie Black. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Bent Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tommy Bridges officiating. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
