To the family of Coach Byerly –
I was saddened to learn of Mr. Byerly’s passing. I live out of town and news from home sometimes arrives late, if at all. As one of the lives that the Coach touched through his years in Little League baseball, I just want you to know that the memories of my time on his teams are some of the best I have. I recall the practices at the old Rankin school on Saturday mornings and looking forward to Coach bringing Cokes for everyone to drink after practice. He was a good man, and I have thought of him and his kindness many times over the years. I hope this brings some comfort to your family in this difficult time. I think that all anyone can hope for when they leave this world is to be remembered as fondly as Coach Byerly. He touched many young lives in a positive way and I think I speak for us all when I say I was very lucky to have known him.
Peace be with you,
‘Richie’ Hansley
To Miriam and family –
I had to sign this on-line in honor of Walter’s wonderful
dedication to Trinity. My love and prayers will be with you. I believe heaven received a great blessing the day Walter went home…
and I know he met my father at the gate. What a wonderful man he was –
