Wanda Elaine King, of Candler, went home to the Lord on Sunday, September 4, 2022 after a long illness. She was 68.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Wanda was a devout Christian whose faith never waivered, even at the end of her Earthly life.

She is predeceased by her parents, Isaac and Geraldine Holcombe and her elder sister, Sharon, who died in early childhood. She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Sam King, their daughter, Kimberly Dawn King, who lives in Candler, and her brother, Richard Holcombe and his wife Stephany, who live in Atlanta.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.

The family of Wanda King (Sam King, Kimberly King & Rick Holcombe) will host a celebration of her life from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the Fellowship Hall at Rapha House, located at 127 School House Rd, Mills River, NC 28759. The Celebration of Life will be an opportunity for family and friends to share happy, uplifting, or humorous stories of their interactions with Wanda. Guests are encouraged to write down their memories before the event and leave the writings as comfort to the family. Light refreshments will be served.
