Ralph “Wayne” Lunsford, 78, of Asheville, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the CarePartners Solace Center.
Born November 30, 1945, in Asheville, Wayne was a son of the late Jonah and Mae Williams Lunsford. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Hazel and Ruby Ducker, and his brothers, Morris, Grady, Earl and Bud Lunsford.
He is survived by his niece, Hilda Edwards (Jim); a number of additional nieces and nephews; and two close friends, Steve and Rhonda Honeycutt.
His family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The graveside service will be held the following day at 2:00 p.m. at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.

Uncle Wayne will be greatly missed in our family. He had a heart of gold and loved to help others. He also loved each and everyone of his nieces & nephews. He was a great man one of a kind. I thank God for giving me the time I had with them while growing up. GONE BUT NEVER EVER FORGOTTEN. LOVE YA (RIP Uncle Wayne)
