W.C. "Wes" Jones

Wes Jones, 82, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Elizabeth house in Flat Rock NC. He was born on March 23, 1932 in Pickens SC to his late mother and father, Berti Blackwell Jones and John Wesley Jones.
Wes grew up in Hendersonville NC where he first discovered his talent and love for music. He then met the love of his life on March 11, 1961 then went on later to marry her.
Wes is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Ann Jones, and his five children Jimmy, Tony, Bobby, Doris, Angie, and his stepson, Paul. As well as seventeen precious grandchildren and twenty beautiful great grandchildren. Also to include his four legged best friend "Maggie" his beloved cocker spaniel.
One of his greatest loves in life was his music, he touched many lives with his beautiful voice and performed with some of the greatest country music singers of all times, including his tour with the Grand Ole Opry.
As well as music he also had a great deal of passion and talent for golf and found a tremendous amount of joy playing with his brother and best friend Jerry whom he loved dearly, along with his sisters Francis, and Pauline.
Our loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather was a wonderful, loving, and talented man who was loved by everyone and will be missed by all. May he live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him and may he rest in eternal peace.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. The family will receive friends following the service.

MaryAnn..Larry and I are so sad to learn of Wes’s passing..he was truley a remarkable fellow, I still play the cd he gave me so long ago..have always loved it. We always enjoyed visiting ya’ll whereever we could..we will miss our friend and we will pray for you and your children. when the darkness passes, there will be sunshine rays upon you and that will be your love watching over you..
