Wendell William McNeil

Wendell William McNeil, 71, of 9 Mountain Country Acres,
Fairview, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998.

A native of Harris, Iowa, he was the son of the late William
Luverne and Grace McNeil.  He attended the Asheville
Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a former salesman with
Lowe's.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Shirley J. 'Raven'
McNeil; daughters, Mary Anhalt of Minneapolis, Minn., Joyce
Senster of White Bear Lake, Minn., Scarlett King of Fairview;
Shirley Rosenbarger of St. Petersburg, Fla., Sharone Castillo of
Pearsall, Tex.,  Mary Ann Arel of East Haven, Conn.; sons,
Bruce McNeil and Roger McNeil of Garland, Tex., Luke McNeil
of Fairview, Jesse McNeil of Asheville and Bill Burton of West
Lafayette, Ind.; sisters, Hazel Koehn of Ft. Morgan, Colorado,
Donna Lynde of Washington, Iowa, Shirley Blackstad of
Shelton, Wash.; 23 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Daddy, although you have departed and we no longer see you
face to face, you will always be with us by God's grace.  We
love you and will never forget your life that you lived so valiantly
.
Services will be 11 am Saturday in the Chapel of Groce
Funeral Home on Patton Avenue conducted by the Revs. Doyle
Marley and Glenn Edwards.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Friday at
the funeral home.
