WESLEY GLENN BANKS Arden ~ Wesley “The Wes” Glenn Banks, 50, of Arden, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, October 19, 2007. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of Hazel Bartlett Banks, of Marion and of the late Wayne Banks. Wes was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he had many brothers and sisters in Christ. In addition to his mother, Wes is survived by his wife of 14 years, Tammy Lance Banks; three daughters, Heather N. Banks, of the home, Jessica N. Banks, of Rutherfordton and Angie K. Banks, of Charleston, WV; a brother, Rick Banks, of Asheville; a sister, Mary Banks, of Marion and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 22, 2007 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend Cecil Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Monday at the church. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

  2. Tammy and Heather, I am so sorry to hear of Wes’s passing. Ms. Kelley told me a few days ago. You, Wes and Heather were good neighbors and friends when we all lived in Overlook MHP. Wes will be missed by all who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Heather and family.

This is really hard to deal with, I keep thnking I am gonna wake up from a bad nightmare, and your gonna be here, but I know that’s not gonna happen! Wes was a wonderful uncle, husband, friend, father…it’s gonna be hard to make it through this world without you! I was Wes’ favorite niece, I was his Crissy Baby, and I have been since the day I was born. Wes was always there for me, no matter what or when I needed him! I know Wes is in heaven with Papa, and Larry, and Aunt Nannie, and all the other people who was in our lives that has passed on. I have so many wonderful memories of Wes, from childhood on that are always gonna be forever in my heart, just as Wes will be! I love you so much Wes, and I wish you were here. Wes was looking foward to my upcoming wedding to Jonathan, and now he’s not here, he will be with me in spirit when I walk down that isle. Wes said I was always his pick, that anything I needed I could always call on uncle Wes. Wes I love you so much!! In closing, I want to say that Tammy you and Heather are both in my prayers and thoughts, and I love you both very much. If you find that you need anything I am here for you!

Wes was at my mother’s funeral and it is a shame that families are not closer than they are. Wes has gone home to live with Jesus where there is love and no arguing or fighting.

    We didn’t really get to know eachother very well, but we’ll still be cousins forever. I’m sorry that we never truly got to know eachother because from all that I’ve heard, you were a great guy. I really wish we could have gotten to know eachother better but I’ll miss you and I know everyone else will to. Tammy and Heather, I know I haven’t really gotten to know you all very well either, but you are still in our prayers. Stay strong!!!
