Our father, William “Willie” Alexander Jamison, 87, went peacefully in his sleep to be with the Lord at 3:45 am Saturday, November 17, 2001, at the Hospice Solace Center.
A resident of Buncombe County, he was born May 4, 1914 in Haywood County. He worked many years as a millwright in Ohio and retired in 1981. He attended Pole Creek Baptist Church. Willie loved animals and going coon hunting with his best friend, Dale McElrath.
He married Emily McFee in 1945 and is survived by his four children; Jerry Jamison and his wife Linda, Gail Franklin and her husband Craig, Gary Jamison and his wife Sherry all of Candler and Pat Lilly and her husband J.C. of Bon Aqua, TN. He is also survived by grandchildren, Joey Jamison-Allison, Stephanie, John and Mikal Jamison, Andi Mathews, Alex Franklin and Zak Jamison; great grandson, Jamison Mathews; step-grandchildren, Eric Lilly and Stephanie Swecker and four step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Marc Jamison of Candler; his faithful caregivers, Mary Freeman and Susie Hudgins and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, William Arthur and Demie Rhetta Rich Jamison; two sisters, Florence Webb and Ruby Headrick; one brother, Frank Jamison and a nephew, Mike Jamison.
Graveside services will be 11:30 am Monday at Hice Hill Cemetery with the Revs. G.W. Jameson and Dennis Thurman officiating. Pallbearers will be Dale McElrath, Jim Blankenship, Bill and Will Jamison, Travis Elliott, Jason and Marvin Mathews and Bruce Trull.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

Sorry to hear about William I’m sure he lived a good rich life and now he is with his LORD Our prayers go out to the entire family.
