William Arthur Lowry

Mr. Lowry was born in Asheville and was a son of the late Arthur William and Margaret Thomas Lowry. He was also preceded in death by a son William Allison Lowry who died in action in Vietnam. He was a Navy veteran and was a former employee of General Electric and of the Newport News Shipyard.

He was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Asheville.

He is survived by a daughter, Caroline Morris, and her husband Rodney, of Candler; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Lewis of Holly Hill, SC, Christina Presley of Bamberg, SC and Michael A. Owenbey of Asheville; five great-grandchildren; and two aunts, Bonnie Sluder and Robbie Luckadoo of Asheville.

Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard, Fletcher.

His family will receive friends 7-8:00 Saturday at Groce Fuenral Home and request that memorials be made to Hospice of Central Virginia, 5540 Falmouth Street, Suite 307, Richmond, VA 23230.
