William B. Harris, 79, of 92 Vandalia Street, Asheville, died Friday, June 15, 2001.

Mr. Harris was born in Norma, TN, and was a son of the late Bradley and Mary Edith Wright Harris. He was married to Nell Towe Harris who died in 1999. He was a Navy veteran of WW II and was retired from the Air Weather Wing of the US Government. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.

Surviving are five daughters, Mary Jeanette Oliver of Huntsville, AL, Bonita Clare Patton of Elizabeth City, Virginia Rose Frabizio of Oakhurst, NJ, Joanne Agnes Parker of Asheville, and Elizabeth Ann Huffman of Lawrenceville, GA; one son, Bradley Thomas Harris of Atlanta; one brother, the Rev. Robert E. Harris of Asheville, and nine grandchildren, Stacy Lee, Greg and Jill Patton, Katie Bosarge, Billy and Patti Oliver, Chad Fisher, Brett Parker and Matthew Frabizio.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. John M. Pagel officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park.

His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
