William "Bill" Frederick Looney

William “Bill” Frederick Looney, 90, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021, at the North Carolina State Veterans Home.

A native of Buncombe Co., Bill was the son of the late Bonnie Johnson and Hubert Johnson and the late Hubert Looney. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Anne Patterson Looney; daughter, Teresa Anne Rose; grandson, Bryan Jackson; sister, Pam Hensley.

Mr. Looney proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his sisters, Susan Rector (Terry), of Candler, Judy Edmonds, of Fletcher, Joyce Landreth, of Asheville, and Paula Taylor, of Concord, NC; sister-in-law, Alene Kinsland; and several nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pastor Glenda Hayner will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 277 Oak Hill Rd., Candler, NC 28715.
