William "Bill" Ross Broadwell

Arden ~ William "Bill" Ross Broadwell, 87, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at his residence. Bill was born in Durham, NC to the late Edward and Annie Ruth Durham Broadwell. He was a former resident of Clinton, NC for 37 years and a resident of Ardenwoods Retirement Community for the past 3 years. He was the First Wake County Forester and later became a private consultant. He was a proud Navy Veteran of WWII, serving on the U.S.S. Paul Hamilton Destroyer in the South Pacific Theater. He enjoyed his sports and was an avid N.C. State Wolfpack fan. He was a member of Mills River Presbyterian Church. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Grady Covington Broadwell; two daughters, Beth Broadwell West and her husband, Bob of Knoxville and Jane Broadwell Huskey and her husband, Terry of Asheboro; a son, William Ross Broadwell and his wife, Ingrid of Columbia, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Dostert, Susan Leath, Bo Broadwell, Jeffrey Broadwell, Rachel Broadwell, Wes Huskey and Eric Huskey and six great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Mills River Presbyterian Church with Reverend Randall Boggs and Reverend Dr. Louie Andrews officiating. A reception will follow the service. Memorials may be made to Mills River Presbyterian Church, 10 Presbyterian Church Road, Mills River, NC 28759.

  5. Read in Fayetteville Observer that your husband passed away. My sympathy is extended to you and your family.
    I was always glad to see you at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with your Sampson Tech students. My grand-daughter-in-law, Leslie McFadyen finished there. She was well trained. Leslie still works at CFVMC in NICU.
