William (Bill) Sullivan

Mills River –William (Bill) Prentice Sullivan, 83, died Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the Elizabeth House. A native of Princeton, Indiana, he was son to the late John Prentice and Lola Effie Evans Sullivan and was wife to Mildred Jenny Sullivan who died in 2010. He was preceded in death by a sister, Reba Sullivan and by an honorary granddaughter, Jordan Hodges. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps serving in WWII and in the Korean Conflict. He retired as an engineer from CP&L (Progress Energy) with forty years of service. Bill served as a volunteer with the Habitat for Humanity, ABCCM and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Asheville. Bill is survived by two daughters; Penny Sullivan Edwards of Jacksonville, FL, and Patti Kaye Sullivan of Mills River, a son; Kevin William Sullivan of Gloucester, VA. He is also survived by a brother, Bob Sullivan of Evansville, IN. and an honorary granddaughter, Sydney Hodges. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard with the Revs. Allen Raines and Leah Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the home following the service. Flowers are appreciated, but memorial donations may be made to The Elizabeth House 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, N.C. 28731. Groce at Lake Julian is in charge of arrangements.

You made the environment enjoyable and entertaining, I hope that later on down the road we can see eachother again, but until then you will be on my mind and in my heart.
