William H. Lashley, Jr, 93, of Hendersonville NC passed away October 11, 2023. He had been in Hospice at the Veterans Hospital in Asheville, NC. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Smith; his children, Sandra Lashley, William Lashley, III, & Frederica Lashley; and his granddaughter, Channa Alterman.
Bill served in the Army during the Korean Conflict, was a Deacon at the Mills River Presbyterian Church, and a lifelong resident of WNC. He worked in the furniture/woodworking industry for Three Mountaineers, English Lumber, Educational Lumber and as a self-employed master carpenter and craftsman.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 am, Saturday October 21st at Riverside Cemetery in Asheville NC. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that memorial donations be made in Bill’s name to FIRSTWNC (P.O. Box 802, Asheville, NC 28802 or https://firstwnc.org/).

Sandra, Bill and Freddie, Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you at this difficult time. I pray the good memories will give you comfort as you remember your Dad. We sure had some good times in the “big house” while our Mom’s visited.

I was saddened to hear of your dads passing. My memories of all of you go way back. Sandra you were my first best friend I met when my family moved to Mills River and we certainly had some great times over the years and that included invading your dads attic sanctuary. We loved playing music on his jukebox and enjoying the Shirley Temples he would make us. Our parents became friends and your dad was always Big Daddy to me. When my dad passed away Big Daddy was a great comfort to me afterwards. I will always remember him with great fondness. Peace be with all of you.
I am sorry to hear of your dads passing. May you find comfort in God who gave you such a wonderful person to love. And may you find joy in God knowing that we will all be together again through His gift of eternal love. I will keep you and your family in my prayers and intentions. God bless.

Jeff and I are so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. Since we moved to SC we don’t always get news right away. I know from personal experience that it will leave a void in your life. I hope you can reflect on special memories to give you comfort. Again we are so sorry. Bill we are sorry that we have not seen you in a several years. We hope you are well. Jeff and Teresa
