William Howell Masters

William Howell Masters, TSgt, USAF (Ret), of Candler, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center.
Mr. Masters was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Jacob H. and Pauline Hodges Masters. He was a 1952 graduate of Weaverville High School and served as a flight engineer with the USAF. He was a member of the Vietnam Ranchhands Association and he retired from the Charles George VA Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Thomas Masters; two daughters, Lorraine Isaacs and husband, Ricky, and Doris Hudson; two sons, Bill Masters, Jr. and wife, Helen, and Paul Masters; grandchildren, Steven Isaacs, Heather Lawson, Ben Isaacs, William Masters III, Melissa Hunt, Dawn Crouch and Tommy Masters, and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Darlene Teague officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
