Bill went away, unexpectedly, to be with God on Saturday, February 21, 2009. He was life long resident of Buncombe County and was always ready to make you laugh. He was the son of the late Claude Jones of Swannanoa and is survived by his wife of 42 years, Eva Jones; two daughters, Sheena Newell and husband Joe and Katrina Gosnell and husband James; three grandsons, Dustin Newell, Colton Newell and James "Bubba" Gosnell; a granddaughter, Samantha Gosnell and a great grandbaby on the way. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a proud and loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be loved and missed forever until we see him again in heaven. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
