William Lee "Billy" Hill

William Lee "Billy" Hill, 52, died Thursday, July 9, 2015. Known by many of his friends as "Wahoo", he was born in Anchorage, Alaska, to the late Richard Lee and Grace Bowman Hill. Before his illnesses, he worked as a machinist/welder and he was an avid fisherman. He was a member of BassMasters and traveled the East coast participating in Bass tournaments. He had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church. His family includes his wife, Robbi Thompson Hill; daughters, Christy Hill and her partner Christine Beevers, of Asheville and Jackie Hill of the home; and a brother, Robert Ray Hill and his life partner, Mark Arrington, of Asheville. A celebration of life is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Chaplain Buddy Corbin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Flowers will be appreciated, or memorials may be made to the family to assist with Jackie's education.
