Flat Rock ~ William R. Everhart, II, 71, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 at Park Ridge Hospital.
Mr. Everhart was born in York, Pennsylvania to the late Reed Everhart, Sr. and Kathryn Mabel Hostetter Everhart. He was a former resident of Fairfax, VA for approximately 40 years until he moved to Flat Rock in 1991.
Mr. Everhart was an outdoorsman with a passion for fishing, hunting, camping, and boating. He was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association. A talented craftsman and builder, he designed and built two homes during his and his wife's lifetime together. Bill was a gemologist and graduate of the American Gem Society. In recent years, real estate occupied much of his time. His community involvement included charter membership in the McLean Rotary Club, membership in the Chamber of Commerce, small business owner for 31 years, membership at Oakton Church of the Brethren and more recently membership at Pinecrest Presbyterian Church in Flat Rock. His lifetime enjoyment of singing included Barbershop Quartets, church choirs, and, in recent years, the Kenmure Chorus.
He is survived by his wife, Siska Everhart and their two children, Kathryn S. Williams and Daniel R. Everhart and three grandchildren, Luke, Adam, and Faith.
No local services are planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pinecrest Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 421, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
Siska,
Wanted to let you know that you and your family have been in our thoughts and prayers. Bill was such a good man, a great Christian example. He gave countless hours helping us find the perfect house in Hendersonville; we will always remember him for that. So kind and patient, even-tempered and smiling, a cheerful singer and friend. Glad we will see him again when its our turn to return ‘home’. Thinking of you with love and sympathy,
Andy and Melanie
Siska, children, & grandchildren, we share your grief in Bill’s passing. We remember Bill best from the good and sad times we shared at the Oakton Church of the Brethren and our youthful pastor, David Rogers. I’m grateful for having been able to see Bill (and Siska) at Bill’s 50th high school Class of 1958’s reunion. Blessings to you and may God comfort you at this time of sorrow.
Bill was a wonderful man and a faithful member of Pinecrest.
Prayers go up for the family
Our thoughts and Prayers go out to the family of Bill Everhart. He will be truely missed.
Dear Siska, children, and grandchildren—Looking for a place to retire, we stopped in Hendersonville one Satruday a.m. years ago and Bill was on the desk at the realty office. He led us back to Kenmure and showed us a lot and we wound up building our house.
We so enjoyed Bill. He was a great guy and will truly be missed.
Siska, what a fine, loving husband you had in Bill. I’m glad I was in the same place and time as he, that he shared his life a bit with us. We’ll all miss him.
Siska. May God’s Grace sustain you in this trying time.We will miss our friend Bill but know he wiill continue to sing God’s praises as he did so well in choir
My condolences to Siska and her children. I worked with Bill and thought very highly of him. He will be missed by his fellow Realtors and friends. Our prayers are with his family
Our condolences to Siska and her family on the passing of Bill. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Siska
I fondly remember you & Bill when you visited my plant nursery (Natural Gardens in Fletcher). May the many memories of Bill fill your heart & help ease your pain.
Siska, Kithy and Danny, I was very sorry to hear about Bill’s death. You are in my thoughts. I hope we will keep in touch and we will see you again in Adams County.

Siska, Kitty, Danny and your families….I am so, so very sorry about the loss of your father. I have long intended to be in touch with him…As family, early on, we shared so many experiences that I would have wished that together we could have shared with all of you. This has so changed that possibility. He always was very special to me. And I’m sure he was to many. I pray that your shared love for him is a comfort to each of you. I hope we can be in contact.
Dear Siska:-
I am so sorry for your loss. Bill was a fine man and a great friend to me. I can’t count the times he was so helpful to me. I will miss him terribly. God rest his soul and God bless you and give you peace in this terrible time.
Fondly, Boyd
I have known Bill for many years through the real estate community, & was so happy when he joined Beverly-Hanks & Associates. We just didn’t get enough time to enjoy him & consider that our loss, too. He is a good man & I am sure husband & father. He will be missed. Sincerely, Priscilla Rouse
Siska, children & grandchildren,
We were saddened to learn of Bill’s passing. Carolyn remembers growing up with Bill at the Washington City Church and we both remember all of the good times at the Oakton Church of the Brethren.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Dear Siska and Family,
Only yesterday, our family was saddened to learn of Bill’s death. The 30+ years my mother worked for him at Everhart Jewelers hold many memories for us. As well, we had the church connection in Oakton, VA. I recall the last time we saw him, when he shared warm & funny memories of Mother at her memorial service eleven years ago. We send you our love and compassion.

Dear Siska–We send sincere condolences to you and your family. Many of us in the McLean community and the McLean Rotary Club have fond memories of you and Bill. Blessings for Bill and for all of you.
Dear Siska,
Your dear Bill sold us our lot on Davis Mtn. (when he was with Preferred) back in Dec. 2002. What a gentleman! My son and I once came to your home to see Bill’s pride & joy – and eventual frustration – the geothermal unit!
Then, Becky and I were missionaries in Africa, afterwards in England, and finally moved back here to build our home. We have just moved in, and today I was looking for Bill’s number (wanted to have him up for a look!) when I stumbled on his obituary. I’m deeply saddened by this, because a year ago when we started building, he called me up and wanted to know how things were progressing. HE REALLY CARED, and so we really cared about him.
May the Lord bless you as you adjust to life without your soul-mate, at 70, something either Becky or I will have to face before long!
‘Lord, to whom shall we go?’ Phillip asked, ‘You have the words of eternal life.’ And so He does.
BLESS YOU! (Rev.Dr.) Johnny & Becky Long – 265 Sky Lake Drive, Hendersonville 28739
