William Stephen Israel, 72, of Leicester, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024.
Born May 21, 1952 in Buncombe Co., William was a son of the late LeRoy Julian Israel and Louise Young Israel.
Surviving is his wife, Marion Livengood Israel; sisters, Carol Garrison (Tom) and Jane Penland (Terry); a brother, Jeff Israel (Brenda); and his lifelong best friend, Ted Wells (Linda).
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

I’m so sorry to hear about Steve! I’ve known Steve since our employment days at the Asheville Army Store back in the 60’s, great times! All thru the years, he was always the same, easy going and ready to help! He will be missed! Prayers to his family during these difficult times!
