Willie E. "Toby" Farmer, Jr., 88, died Friday, May 20, 2011 at his residence. A native of Jackson County, Georgia, he was son of the late W.E. Farmer Sr. and of the late Oza Mae Crawford Farmer. He retired with the Biltmore Estates with thirty-five years of service. He was a member of Antioch Methodist Church in Georgia and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Surviving is his wife, Margaret Fortson Farmer; two daughters, Patsy Turner and Mitzi Fisher and by five sons, Frank, Richard, Lynn , Randy and Roger Farmer. Mr. Farmer is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm Monday at Bent Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Bridges and Richard Farmer officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

  10. Farmer Family:I am so sorry for your loss of Toby. He was always a quiet, kind soft spoken man when I was around him. I know no words can ease the pain of his loss, but hopefully knowing he is now in the presence of God with no more pain or suffering will help sustain you through this time.

  14. My prayers are with you at this time. My husband, Victor Grady Farmer, died last year on May 6. He also had that beautiful white hair, and had been employed by the Biltmore Estate. I don’t know if they were related. Victor was from the Unaka/Marble area before his parents moved to Skyland.
