Arden – Wilma Faye Williams Shuford, 84, of Arden, died Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at the Elizabeth House.

A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Ollie Taylor Williams.

She is survived by her son, Terry Cowan (Patricia) of Indian Trail, NC; one brother, Stanley Williams (Carolyn) of Black Mountain; two grandchildren, Tina Droddy (James) of Arden and Ryan Mundy of Indian Trail, NC; one great-granddaughter, Liz Droddy as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Her family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cane Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that you consider making a contribution in Wilma’s memory to either Four Seasons Compassion for Life Angel Program or to the Fletcher Fire Department.

    will miss you very much. Louie enjoyed trading good natured barbs with you over the years. We will treasure all our memories with you.

  4. I am so very sorry for the loss of Wilma. Such a sweet lady!. I will always remember her getting the spirit in church and praising our Lord. Now she is walking with our Lord and savior praising his name. We will see each other again one day. Prayers and love to the family. I know she will be missed and remembered forever!
