Wilma Kirk Richey

A native of Albemarle, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charles Elliot and Vida Cotton Kirk and wife of the late Parker Richey, a retired postal worker, who died in 1981.

Mrs. Richey was a member of Kenilworth Presbyterian Church and former member and past president of the U.S. Post Office Women’s Auxiliary. She was a graduate of the Memorial Mission Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse in the Asheville area hospitals and for Dr. Eugene Clayton.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Reeves of Arden; her son, Ronald K. Richey of Charlottesville, VA; two sisters, Ora Hatley of Albemarle, NC, Prebble Crowell of Concord, NC; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 pm at Green Hills Cemetery conducted by the Rev. John David Stewart.
