Wilson R. Tschiffely Jr.

October 18, 1922 ~ November 2, 1999

Wilson R. Tschiffely, 77, of 85, Carrier St., Asheville, died Tuesday, November 2, 1999 in a local hospital.

A native of Quince Orchard, MD, he was the son of the late Wilson R. Tschiffely Sr. and Louise Murphy Tschiffely. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Painter Tschiffely and a half sister Margaret Burroughs. He was a Army Air Corp
Veteran of WW II serving as Staff Sgt. in Brazil and Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 13 for 11 years. He retired in 1977 as a Supervisor with
the National Climatic Center and more recently volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital with 1300 volunteer hours and was a active member of St. Joan of Arc where he served as an Usher.

Mr. Tschiffely is survived by his sons, Wilson R. Tschiffely III and his wife Betty of Arden, Martin J. Tschiffely and his wife Mary of Candler; a granddaughter Crystal Tschiffely and a
great-grandson Trace.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 2:00 pm Friday at St. Joan of Arc with Father Christopher Davis and Father John M. Pagel officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive 7-8:30 pm Thursday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Avenue.
