Yvonne Kennedy Benson, 58, gained her wings Sunday, November 22, 2015. Yvonne was the daughter of the late Joseph and Edna Kennedy. Yvonne was a devout Christian, a member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church, and loved to play the piano. She was a former employee of NTCA, where she had lots of friends. Those left to cherish her memory are husband, Bill Benson; daughters, Susan "Elaine" Whiteside and (Joe), Michelle Pinion (Chad), and Kristie Clark (Jon); sister, JoAnne Nicholson; brothers, Dennis and Ronnie Kennedy; grandchildren, Sarah and Nicole Teague, Casey and Hailey Clark, and Zachary and Evan Pinion; great granddaughter, Aaliyah Pickette; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be held at Starnes Cove Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 25, with friends and family from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. and the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Charlie Sams will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

  7. What a great lady we’ve lost. I worked with Yvonne for several years at NTCA. She was one of the kindest people I’ve known in my life. She always had a smile for you and was sincere and true in her beliefs. This Thanksgiving I’ll be especially thankful that our paths crossed and to remember the moments we shared together.
