Zanie Willis Rhoden

Zanie Church Willis Rhoden, 94, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Elderberry Health Care Center. A native of Madison Co., she was a daughter of the late John and Kate Thomas Church. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Creed Willis; second husband, Eddie Rhoden; daughter, Catherine Willis Moore; son, Robert Nelson Willis; and two brothers. Mrs. Rhoden enjoyed spending her time gardening and canning. She is survived by her daughters, Lillie Mae Parker and husband, Steve, Ruth Whitted and husband Morris, and Betty Jean Cruise and husband Bobby, of Florida; son, Homer "Shorty" Willis, of South Carolina; sister, Laura Thomas, of Hot Springs; 21 grandchildren, and several great and great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service for Mrs. Rhoden will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Garry Rogers officiating. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
