1st time I met Margie! Both our husbands worked for Sant Fe RR which sponsored 6 weeks of classes at USC. There was a very posh meet and greet welcome event. Margie came over to introduce herself. As I reached out to shake her hand, she coughed pieces of torn up napkin all over me. I didn't react as I brushed the bits off and continued chatting. She laughed and later said "I knew in that moment that we'd be friends forever!" And we were!! We shared MANY vacation trips w our families to western National Parks. Once she and the family moved to CA, we were inseparable. Game night on Fridays was a ritual, Sunday Funnies was the name of our bowling team and we lived up to that title. After we transferred back to Chicago, we still visited back and forth when she, Larry and their entourage moved to Atlanta. Sadly, my husband and I divorced, Marge and Larry did the same but Marge and I stayed in touch, visited when she came back to see her famil and once she moved to Asheville, I visited her there.
