E. Louis "Lou" Trantham, 95, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Aston Park Health Care Center.
Born in Asheville, Mr. Trantham was a son of the late Ellsworth Louis Trantham, Sr. and Mary E. Rhymer Trantham. He served in the Pacific Theatre with the US Marine Corps during WW II and was a retired self-employed paint and wall-covering contractor. He was a member and former Deacon and greeter at West Asheville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Jo Trantham; daughter, Carol Ann Hepler (Ron); grandchildren, Betsy Carroll (Brian), Becky Remmel (Todd) and Ben Hepler (Katie) and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Stan Welch officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
