Nancy Britt Lee, 71, of 178 Pisgah View Road, Asheville, died Thursday, October 21, 2004, at her home.
Mrs. Lee was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Herman Harold and Bonnie Ingle Britt. She was married to Robert Lewis “Bob” Lee who died October 21, 2002. She was a musician as well as a bookkeeper for C.P. Kruse Co. She was a member of Alexander Chapel United Methodist Church.
Nancy loved her family and many friends and her special pets and canaries. Nancy was a musician who played the organ and piano for two churches she loved dearly. She was a member of Smoky Mountain Bird Club where each member was a special friend.
Surviving are one daughter, Melanie Haney and her husband Bill of Asheville; one son Robert(Bobby) Lee, Jr. of Asheville; one grandson Clint M. Haney of Asheville; two sisters, Mazel Bradley of Asheville and Joan Trexler of Albemarle; one brother Pat Britt of Gaffney, SC; one sister-in-law Wilma Anderson; lifelong and special friends Bob Kidd and Frances McDowell; and special nieces and nephews Patsy, Pam and Bub.
A memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Alexander Chapel United Methodist Church on Aiken Road with the Rev. Marjorie W. Kiess and James Lee officiating. Directions: US 19-23 North, take Newbridge Exit, on Merrimon Avenue north go to top of hill and turn left to Ashelawn Cemetery; take right fork at cemetery, church is on the right.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
